JavaScript Programming & Minecraft Game Design

offered session 1

offered session 3 (full)

Each week campers will learn a different skill. JavaScript Coding will teach campers about advanced computer science using JavaScript programming language. Campers will learn advanced JS programming logic and debug skills, understand JS syntaxes, and develop custom apps and games using sports and animal themes. In addition, campers will learn Python and Java fundamentals.

Campers will create their own Minecraft server and push their creativity to the limit by designing multi-player mini-games like Spleef for their friends to play. The goal is to have campers understand how to build a server, develop a mini-game, and create their own Minecraft world. Every student will storyboard and present their project!

NOTE: Campers must have their own account to participate in this class. Please create/purchase Minecraft Deluxe Java Edition. The Minecraft Deluxe Java Edition is available online at www.minecraft.net for a one-time payment of $39.99. It is recommended that campers purchase this in advance of the start of camp so as to test their account access.
